Lacan and Community Significance: Another New Years Post

I know, this is my second post commenting on the looming New Year, but I really liked this Lacanian clip from the movie “The Life of David Gale” delivered by the venerable Kevin Spacey, especially for the last few lines that lend to one of Bakhtin’s main ideas, that through others we find meaning in ourselves: “The only way we can measure the significance of our own lives is by valuing the lives of others.”

Have a happy happy one.
